It looks as though our post “The African Man Must Man Up” ruffled some feathers. If you have a response then respond. Everyone doesn’t have to agree on everything, that’s the beauty in discussion. Thanks!

The African Man Must Man Up → africaisdonesuffering.com

The African man has undeniably admirable qualities, but let’s not fixate on all that is seemingly good, we must acknowledge that there is plenty of room for improvement in our societies and modes of operation. The bad traits, outdated mentalities, and condescending behaviors prevalent of men in African communities diminish and suppress certain elements and chances of exposure from all that is good in the African woman. The African man has kept the African woman in the role of submissive servant who is afraid to air her views, afraid to undertake projects which would make her “greater” than him…

“The African man must man up and stop suppressing the African woman in an attempt to attain greatness. African men and women are not competitors in some unacknowledged race to the top, we should work alongside one another providing encouragement, love, and support, not abuse, discrimination, and violence. The African man must man up and respect the African woman as a woman and not treat her like a little girl, or a criminal, or an enemy, simply because she was born a female. The African man must man up and realize that he doesn’t need to belittle the African woman to reinforce his manhood.” —The African Man Must Man Up
