Talk Africa: Religious Perspective Homosexuality Un-African Pt. III
[Click to read Pt. I] | Click to read Pt. II]
Religious extremists generally agree that homosexuality is un-African. The arguments they rely on may not seem heavily textured, straightforward, and when it is challenged, non-responsive. However, the bottom line for most fundamental Christians is that there is no place for homosexuality on the African continent because it undermines the values of family and the African way because the African way is based in the religious teachings of the church. Many of the groups lobbying heavily for anti-homosexuality legislation are, or are backed by fundamentalist religious groups. Their voices are loud and forceful in this debate, so it is worthwhile exploring what they have to say.
