Crystal Tettey is a Malagasy-Ghanaian artist who is determined to help achieve sustainable peace and development for Africa through the Arts – her platforms are principally poetry, music, and the Spoken word. She was born in Moscow, Russia to Lys Ranaivo (a trained journalist from Madagascar) and John Tettey (an engineer from Ghana). Her family relocated to Ghana when she was 6 and has since then spent most of her life in Accra. She studied and lived in France as well.

Growing up, she was confronted with the realities of our “Third World” underdevelopment and its implications for Gender insensitivity, youth unemployment, etc. It is these experiences that ultimately motivated her to speak up via the Arts.
